What is a Milecastle?
As summarized by Wikipedia: A milecastle was a small fort (fortlet), a rectangular fortification built during the period of the Roman Empire. They were placed at intervals of approximately one Roman mile along several major frontiers, for example Hadrian’s Wall in Great Britain (Britannia in the Roman Period).
Like a castle, it is important for organizations to have a solid foundation, particularly when they are standing at a frontier and are exposed to change and uncertainty.
Additionally, like organizations, people within the milecastles could choose to either look outward or inward — and I’ve found that it is very important that we do both!
